2600 mAh External power pack for only $1.98

When I was on a train in China couple months ago, I wished I had something like this. Although my Note 2 has a huge 3100 mAh battery, it still could not last long enough, because the phone (US SIM) always roam on 3G over there and signal comes and goes while a train is moving at 250 kpm.

I ordered 4, the maximum quantity for free 5-15 days shipping, total $7.92.

Not sure about its quality, but seems well designed and for this little money I have nothing to lose. According to its size, the cell should be really 2600 mAh. If its DC-DC converter is low efficiency, the actual output will be significantly reduced. For example, if DC-DC is only 50%, then the actual output will be only 1300 mAh. Even so, it is still worth the 2 bucks.

[update 12/18/2013] It's been almost a month and I still have not received any item or illegible tracking #. I opened a dispute with Alibaba, but the seller rejected it and offered partial refund ($6 out of $7.92). I requested again full refund. If the seller will play tricks again, I'll call my credit card company tomorrow to charge back.

  1. You can conserve your cell phone's battery in a poor reception area by going to airplane mode and only checking for missed txt and calls when in a good reception area and/or just periodically.

  7. I received an email asking to confirm delivery or open a dispute. I logged into my account, found the tracking #, but could not retrieve its status. So I opened a dispute. Alibaba claims to refund me if no response from the seller after 4 days.

    1. The seller rejected the dispute and offered $6 refund out of $7.92. This is obviously scam. I requested again full refund. If the seller will still play tricks without immediate full refund, I'll call Visa tomorrow to take my money back.

This is and will be the only time to bother with Alibaba and I feel sincerely sorry about my this article.

    2. Obviously, AliExpress/Alibaba is the one to responsible for this. They should know better. Also, the confirmation was sent out from the system not the seller.
I got my $ back from my credit card company.

    5. I think it was a trick played by AliExpress / Alibaba to fish people's email. Every morning I receive their ads since I placed an order (never received correct confirmation or any communication). Very bad sales strategy and practice for Mr. Ma. I will not buy anything from him for at least one year.

    6. Never give your main email to any company in China. I learned that long ago with sina.com.

    7. Just checked my credit card statement, AliExpress refunded fully on 1/8.

  8. I have this same product, which was bought from Frys for $10 and then had an $8 rebate. Satisfied with it, the charge held, and the form factor size is exactly suitable for my use case!

Where we you headed in China on the train? Sometimes I use the fast one between Shanghai and Beijing instead of gambling with flight delays.
